Men In Black & Toronto Blue Jays Trade March 6, 2002

Future Considerations:

MIB agrees to draft Jason Giambi with the 7th pick of the first round in 2004 if available, and send their 4th round pick in the 2004 Veteran Draft. Should Mr. Giambi accumulate a BA of .275 or higher and hit for a total of at least 10 homeruns over the course of the 2003 season, then the MIB will be obligated to send their 3rd round pick in the 2004 veteran draft in place of the afore mentioned 4th round pick. Mr. Giambi must also play in 100 or more games during the 2003 season or the MIB will deliver the 3rd round pick in the 2004 Veteran Draft in place of the afore mentioned 4th round pick. If Mr. Giambi is not available then there will be no  obligation on the behalf of the MIB to send any compensatory draft picks. MIB agrees to select Jorge Posada with the acquired 2nd round draft pick if available, and send their 5th round pick in the 2004 Veteran Draft to the Toronto Blue Jays. Should Mr. Posada play in 100 or more games in the 2003 season, then the MIB agree to send their 5th round pick in the 2005 Veteran Draft, as well as the afore mentioned 5th round pick in the 2004 Veteran Draft.  Should Mr. Posada not be available for draft in the 2nd round then there will be no obligation on the behalf of the MIB to send any compensatory draft picks.  MIB agrees to send their 5th round draft pick in the 2003 Veteran Draft should Mr. Giambi and Mr. Posada both be acquired in the draft. Toronto agrees to send $500,000 compensatory dollars should Mr. Giambi not be available for draft.  Toronto agrees to send $250,000 compensatory dollars should Mr. Posada not be available for draft.
